Virginia Pro-Life Groups Call on Governor McDonnell Again to Regulate
Abortion Clinics After Planned Parenthood Sting By Live-Action

This is a joint release by Virginia Christian Alliance, Virginia Rally for
Life and Hampton Roads for Life.

Thursday, February 4, 2011 the Commonwealth of Virginia made unwelcomed
national news and negative attention.  The group, California based
Live-Action, exposed Planned Parenthood Clinics in Richmond, Roanoke,
Charlottesville and Falls Church and caught them once again, as they have in
10 other Planned Parenthood Clinics across the U.S., apparently coaching an
undercover couple on ways to help young girls of 14 & 15 bypass Virginia
parental consent laws and loopholes in regulations.

The video submitted to the Attorney General¹s Office in Richmond, appears to
reveal Planned Parenthood offering their services on how to bypass parental
consent laws and an apparent offer to partner in covering up the illegal
underage abortions.

Just two weeks ago Virginia Christian Alliance, Hampton Roads for Life and
Virginia Rally for Life held the inaugural Virginia Rally for Life on the
Capitol Grounds to encourage Governor McDonnell to impose safety regulations
for abortion clinics throughout Virginia.  More than 250 people, many who
came in buses from around the Commonwealth Roanoke, Harrisonburg, Hampton,
Virginia Beach and The Valley, attended the Rally.  Last week the Grand Jury
in Philadelphia indicted an abortionist for the death of a woman from
Virginia and the murder of seven babies.

Virginia is not exempt from having a tragedy like the one at the uninspected
clinic in Philadelphia.  Just like in Philadelphia, Virginia had a woman die
from an overdose of anesthesia at the hands of an abortionist not that many
years ago.

³It is way past the time for Governor McDonnell to act,² says Virginia
Christian Alliance Chairman Don Blake, ³He now has even more reason to
implement the regulation of Virginia¹s abortion clinics after the airing of
the just released Planned Parenthood videos in Richmond and the other three
cities.²

³If Planned Parenthood is offering to cover up and coach young girls to lie
about their age to have an abortion without parental consent, it is an
outrage.² Hampton Roads for Life member, Diana DeBoe continues, ³Whose
underage daughter is the next victim of Planned Parenthood?  As taxpayers,
we will not be co-opted or made complicit.  Maybe our elected officials
think the underage abortion videos shown nationwide today will go quietly
away.  They will not.²

After learning of the videos, Dr. Johnny Hunter, Director of Life Education
and Resource Network (a national pro-life organization) and Board of Advisor
to Virginia Christian Alliance said, ³Once again, this does not appear to be
an isolated incident but more of a pattern.  Governor Bob McDonnell and
Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli should call for an immediate investigation
to see if any parental consent laws have been broken by this organization.²
He went on to say, ³the gatekeepers of Virginia should not allow an
organization like this to continue to thrive, especially not without strong
oversight.²  Dr. Hunter, one of the principal speakers at The Rally for
Life, reiterated his statement made at The Rally that, ³in Virginia,
barbershops are more regulated than abortion clinics.²

³We call on the Governor to regulate abortion clinics and Planned
Parenthood.  According to the Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, in an opinion
issued August 20, 2010, Governor McDonnell has the power to promulgate
regulations for abortion facilities,² says Craig Hudgins, one of the
organizers for the Virginia Rally for Life.  He went on to say, ³This,
Governor, is a wake up moment!  Lives are at stake Governor, act now!
Providence has afforded Governor McDonnell a rare opportunity.  Either he
heeds the warning offered in the exposure of Planned Parenthood¹s
reprehensible and apparently illegal activities and immediately enacts
emergency regulations to ensure Planned Parenthood will never be able to
violate the innocence of Virginia¹s children again, OR he can bury his head
in the sand and await the inevitable deaths of women and children that will
result from lack of state mandated health regulations and oversight of
abortion clinics.²

³The Virginia Christian Alliance, Hampton Roads for Life and the Virginia
Rally for Life call on Governor McDonnell to do the right thing, and do it
now² concluded Don Blake.

I live in China. I was walking around the other day and I counted 24 children. Out of the 24 kids, only three were girls! That is a sex ratio of 8 boys to 1 girl! I once taught a class of 33 students where only 3 were girls! Now I know the official rate is 5 boys to 4 girls, but this is ridiculous. Who are these beloved sons going to marry in 20 years?

I am aware that China has a one child policy, has a preference for sons as a replacement for a lack of a social security plan, and is backwards and undeveloped, but aborting females for males is beyond cruel. Estimates say that there will be a surplus of 60 million males in ten years.

Chinese parents can have another child if they have a girl, but not if they have a boy. Chinese, however, often ignore the law, abort the girl, and have two sons. I am also told that China will import women from Russia, Thailand, Japan, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and the Philippines to make up for the lack of wives in China. However, these countries do not have an extra 60 million women and India, Pakistan, Nepal, Vietnam, South Korea, and Taiwan also have a severe shortage of women. An imbalanced sex ratio is a serious problem and could lead social instability and even war.

If you ever go to China count the first 20 kids you see yourself. I bet you won’t find the sex ratio is better than two boys to one girl. If you are concerned about this problem, try to raise awareness by discussing this issue with others and ask them if they want to live in a world where everyone has an unmarried son.
