Virginia Campaign For Liberty

January 27, 2011

Dear Patriot,

Richmond is literally foreclosing on Virginia’s future.

The fight to preserve freedom is knocking on your door.  Will you answer?

The Chair of the Counties, Town, & Cities Committee, Riley Ingram (R-62), is blocking a critical piece of legislation that is vital to preserving the property rights of Virginians.

Call Delegate Ingram immediately as you read the rest of this email.  He is supporting the agenda of the radical environmental lobby and big corporate developers.

He is sitting on HB 1721, legislation that would protect Virginians against the international environmentalists’ agenda.

Delegate Ingram’s office phone number is 804-698-1042.

Virginia Campaign for Liberty is leading the charge against one of the most egregious schemes the political establishment pushes to control our lives and bankrupt our communities.

I am of course talking about the land use provisions passed in 2007 (HB 3202).  These provisions are now being used by huge corporate developers and eco-extremist groups to tag team Virginians with abusive regulations, stripping them of their livelihood and property.

You see, well-funded political environmental groups insist that human activity, especially exhaling carbon dioxide, will result in catastrophic environmental harm.

These eco-fanatics frighten citizens and politicians alike into kowtowing to their radical demands.

Through forceful government zoning initiatives, these radical environmentalist ultimate goals include:

* Implementing Urban Development Areas (UDAs) and comprehensive land use plans to control human activity. Taxpayers will pick up all of the costs for the subsidies and new bureaucracy.

* Enacting so-called “Smart Growth” plans to prohibit rural settlement and eliminate the need for carbon-producing vehicles.  Reducing carbon footprint by 70% by rationing energy use.

* Permanently preserving rural areas and establishing “wildlands” for more than 50% of the Commonwealth’s landscape, with road-less areas that would be off limits to humans.

The land use provisions adopted in 2007 (HB 3202) were a large incremental leap for the eco-fanatics toward achieving their goals.

Aside from trying to eliminate all freedom, the radical environmental agenda leaves a tidal wave of foreclosures and bankruptcy in its wake.

These greenie do-gooders only care about Al Gore and global warming phantoms.  They could care less who they hurt along the way to their “Eco-Paradise.”

But thanks to all the subsidies, grants, and tax incentives given to the huge corporate developers, they’ll ride the wave on the back of the taxpayers.  They will likely profit substantially from “Smart Growth” calls for building up to twelve homes on one acre of land.

And you get to pay the bill!

It is not a coincidence that areas in Virginia with the most foreclosures (Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads, and Richmond) also have the most abusive land regulations.

There is a direct correlation between abusive Urban Development zoning and foreclosures.

The restrictive regulations created by the unholy alliance of self-styled environmentalists and a handful of greedy contractors removes reality from the housing market.

Luckily, you and I still have the opportunity to make our voices heard and to stop all of this nonsense.

All Virginians need to do to stop the eco-extremists dead in their tracks is to pass House Bill 1721.

House Bill 1721 would simply present local communities with the ability to opt out of establishing “Urban Development Areas” if they wished to.

It is essential that vital planning decisions for communities stays local, and not in the Capitol, where they can easily be manipulated by nefarious special interests.

Join me in the fight to pass this crucial legislation!

Del. Riley Ingram (R-Hopewell), Chairman of the House Counties, Cities, & Towns Committee, is caving to the pressures of big corporate developers and eco-extremists to abolish private land ownership by refusing to allow a vote on HB 1721.

Join me in the fight by contacting Del. Ingram at 804-698-1042 and demanding that he support HB 1721 and give it a full hearing.

Tell Delegate Ingram that unless he wants to be complicit in the scheme to rob Virginians of their property rights in the name of eco-fanaticism, he should lend HB 1721 his full support and work toward passing it into law.

Internationalist organizations like the Southern Environmental Law Center and the Sierra Club are heavily funded by international organizations like ICLEI (the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives) and benefit greatly by defeating HB 1721.

It is up to us, We the People, to defend our innate life, liberty, and property from the hysterical global environmental legions of special interest groups.

You and I must stop this socialist central planning scheme in its tracks by taking action now to protect all Virginians’ private property rights.
