In November the Republican party of Virginia voted to waste millions of tax payer dollars so they could get their establishment pick George Allen as the 2012 Senate candidate. Stupid and Sad. The party that claims to be about fiscal responsibility was more concerned with manipulating the outcome of a race 2 years away than with saving the residents of Virginia money.
It is estimated that this will cost the taxpayers of Virginia over $3 Million dollars. Further this method will dilute donor dollars amongst the likely 5 to 10 candidates that will end up on the primary ballot come 2012. This does not take into account the polarization that will occur among supporters. Way to unify the party folks!
What is sad is that those that voted for this decision were so duped by the powers that be. Unlike here in the 5th district and a few select areas, we’ve not seen the reforms needed within the party. Instead what we still have are a bunch of thugs that seek to enforce their will on the voters. Sound familiar?
This is exactly what we have been putting up with in D.C. and it has made it’s way home to Virginia. Sadly so many in the RPV were willing to cast off reason and prudence and throw their vote towards irresponsibility. All because big namess in the party tricked them into thinking that a primary is “the way to go”. This is why it is imperative that we take over the RPV lock, stock, and barrel. Click here to find out how. Then look at this voting list. Anyone with a Yes next to their name needs to be removed. .

You did such a good job fighting against the last Republican “establishment candidate”. Robert Hurt got elected despite your best efforts and he’s going to do just fine.
Another point to note; RPV is already holding a convention in 2012, they have to, to elect a state Chairman, and delegates to the national convention. So they are charging the taxpayers when they are already holding a convention where they could have held the nomination. Also, the primary to choose a Senate nominee will be the second primary that year. The Presidential primary will be in March, and the Senate primary later, probably June.
“my best efforts” like how I endorsed him? Or could it be how I wrote up a review of his conservative voting record?
You pop over here every few months and make stupid comments like this. Knock it off. If you want to contribute something intelligent then great.

Your little blog sure has become silent.
Not exactly much going on lately. The whole state shuts down when snow comes. And people’s brains are fried with Christmas shopping.
Yes, it has. A new job has made it hard to do as much political commentary as I used to.
I thought that during the primary season, you thought Hurt was the Anti-Christ. Go figure.
Starting off we did treat him like that. However, if you went back you’d see that even though I was a McPadden supporter I blogged about Robert Hurt’s conservative voting record. He was/is an establishment guy. But being that we now own the establishment here in the 5th we shall see if that will be a problem.
The 6th District Chair, Trixie Averill, voted for a primary despite promises she would vote for a convention when she ran for her post. She attempted to justify this switch by saying that she polled the 6th District leaders and they wanted a primary overwhelmingly. However it came out that she failed to contact at least one 6th district leader who was pro-convention. It also came out, that when she phoned some of the leaders to do the “poll” she spoke more positively of a primary then she did of a convention.
Who is “we” and “I” in your reply? At least you voted for the Evil One after you voted against him. You get credit for that.
Bonus points awarded for not being one of the “I’d rather have Perriello for 2 years than Hurt for 20″ nutballs, though. They seem to have muted themselves (or gone back on their medications)
