Perriello Dodges Touch Questions

Perriello Dodges Touch Questions

Received this via email today:

Just like in the last debate, in a recent TV interview, Congressman Perriello refused to directly answer the questions asked of him.

As Election Day draws near, Congressman Perriello is making it clear that in order to try to save his job he will do or say anything to get elected.

As a slick Washington politician, it’s hard to keep up with Congressman Perriello’s subtle evasions and distortions of the truth, so to get the answers, we’ll do the follow up and re-ask Congressman Perriello the questions he failed to answer in the interview:

·         Question: I want to show you something on MoveOn.org’s Facebook page. Do we have that? There it is. As you can see, I’m sure you know they’ve labeled you a progressive hero. They have raised more than $100,000 for your campaign. The question I have for you is, the values of MoveOn.org, do they match up with the values of the voters in the 5th district?

·         Question: Do you think it speaks well of you that MoveOn.org has so passionately spread your cause beyond the 5th district?

o   “Perriello will be forced to win the race on his own and that means defending his record that was liberal enough for the web site MoveOn.org to list him as a “Progressive Hero”. The moniker is part of a fund-raising effort to help endangered Democrats who support issues the group believes in. It has helped him raise more than $100,000…Perriello wouldn’t say if MoveOn.org is a group whose values match the values of the relatively conservative 5th District.” (NBC 12)

·         Question: Last quick question for you. Democrats retain the majority. Are you going to vote for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House?

o   FLASHBACK: Congressman Perriello already admitted he would vote for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker and gave her a B+ for a job well done – why the sudden evasion?

§  “Perriello said he would support Pelosi again for speaker.” (Richmond Times-Dispatch, “Perriello, Hurt trade barbs in televised forum,” 10/13/10)

§  Congressman Perriello gives Nancy Pelosi a B+ on job performance. “With the other name you mentioned…I would give the overall house leadership team a B…B+” (Congressman Perriello, Campbell County Town Hall, 9/10/10)

Perriello did not answer a question at the Palmyra town hall meeting. When Periello was asked at the Palmyra town hall meeting, “why did you vote to force all public employees to have to join a union?” (Police and Firefighters Monopoly Bargaining Act) He stated that there were more important things in the act than a persons right to choose. Didn’t understand how other things can be more important than the right of an individual to decide if they want to be in a union. It is not up to Congress to dictate an individuals right to choose.

Perriello is a whirlish dervish unencumbered by the truth.

he also released internal poll showing him within one point. i think that is too optimistic, but we must not let up working for Robert Hurt.

Really, I have never witnessed anyone spin so many tales about their legislative record as does Perriello. And as a former vice president of little Blackstone Chamber of Commerce (20 years ago), his assault on the Chamber of Commerce really enrages me. For heavens sakes, the Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Lunenburg Christmas parade. I guess that is evil too, huh, Perriello?

just saw on TheSchillingShow blog that Carol Thorpe has asked Jeff Clark to withdraw.

I don’t know Mr. Clark–do any of you think he will? And if he did, what impact would that have on the race?
