Robert Hurt’s Campaign office was shut down and hazmat teams, The FBI, and an alphabet soup of government agencies were dispatched to deal with an envelope containing the unknown substance.
WDBJ reported:
…He said Hurt was with his family Friday evening. “Robert’s first concern is for the safety of his staff and the workers who may have handled this mail at the post office,” Harrison told News 7 in a brief statement Friday night. Law-enforcement authorities declined to comment on the case.
I spoke with Sean Harrison and he said that Robert was calm when it happened and that he said “don’t come in here” after the envelope was opened. Apparently the white powder was everywhere. He and others did not seem greatly concerned because it’s no easy task to get your hands on Anthrax but they still had to shut down the office and Hazmat teams still had to treat it as if it was dangerous. After seeing some photos that I didn’t think should be posted here I can see why.
As usual the story doesn’t get the narrative that it deserves. This was meant to terrorize. This was from the Left. We on the right and in the tea party are treated to a daily barrage of abuse at the hand of the media about how we are hate filled home grown terrorists. Yet this is not a side of the story you are likely to hear.
Instead you’ll hear Tom Perriello jumping into the narrative:
“Violence and intimidation have no place in our politics, ever. If this was meant to be a threat, and particularly if it was in any way politically motivated, I hope the cowards behind this will be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Nothing undermines democracy like trying to replace political arguments with threats or violence. My thoughts are with Mr. Hurt and his staff during this scary time, and my thanks once again are with law enforcement officials for their rapid and professional response.”
Notice anything missing from that statement? I guarantee that if it was Tom Perriello’s office that received a suspicious white powder that the word “homegrown terrorism” would be now part of the media narrative.
The Hill and others are repeating the following nonsense:
Perriello, a freshman, is a top Republican target. His district has already been the scene of political mischief this cycle.
During the lead up to the final healthcare vote in March, a tea party member posted Perriello’s brother’s Charlottesville address online, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and the following day at the house a gas line to an outdoor grill was cut. Police called it “a deliberate act of vandalism.”
The FBI responded within 48 hours of that “incident” that there was NO connection to the address being posted. It was also later reported that a rodent may have been the culprit. Yet, this doesn’t stop the hill and others from once again pointing the finger at us. Well at least they can’t blame the army of terrorist squirrels.
The problem with this kind of game is that it is not only Robert Hurt’s office and staff that is terrorized but a very large chain of everyone and every place that came in contact with that package. For as long as they believe it to be a threat they must treat it as such and continue to trace it’s origin. Though, in the eyes of the Liberal terrorists akin to Bill Ayers weather underground they likely believe they are doing the economy a great service by “keeping people employed”. After all, like most Alinsky followers “the ends justify the means”.

Can you link to a source, like a newspaper, for your claim that the FBI later said there was no connection and that a rodent may have been the culprit?
The FBI concluded that it was vandalism not a rodent. That was reported in the newspapers. The allegations about a “rodent” were made up by one blogger and it caught on.
“This was from the Left.”
Can you also provide proof of this? This site is sounding less like a Watchdog and more like a bunch of right-wing paranoia.
