GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATION WORKING ON A UNIQUE PROGRAM TO
BRING PATRIOTISM BACK TO AMERICAN FAMILIES
Homemakers for America announces
“Restoring the Heart of America, One Story at a Time”
Dayton, Ohio – July 20, 2010 – Homemakers for America is excited to announce the launch of their
national Family Book-a-Month for America campaign: Restoring the Heart of America, One Story at a
Time. Parents are being challenged to share stories from America’s history with their children every
day. For the next 12 months, participants will receive one 300 to 500 page volume each month filled
with stories taken from literature written for young people in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. This was
a golden era when authors deliberately wrote to instill patriotism and build character and faith. Families
will learn about America’s greatest patriots and heroes from the early days of discovery to the settlement
of the western frontier.
“It is time to revive the soul of America,” says founder of Homemakers for America, Kimberly Fletcher.
“It has been said that a nation is formed by the joining of hands, but the true measure of her strength and
vitality is found in the hearts of her citizens. It is our goal with this project to help rekindle patriotism in
young people by filling their hearts with the stories of what made America the light and hope of the
world. If we want our kids to grow up to be ‘good’, we’ve got to show them what ‘good’ looks like.”
Participants are encouraged to sign up at librariesofhope.org by July 31 to ensure delivery of their first
book, Stories of Great Americans, by late August. The cost is only $15.00/month. A free Story Bible
will be included as a gift to each family, as well.
Homemakers for America Inc. is a national, non-profit organization founded by Kimberly Fletcher, a
homemaker and mother to eight children who is devoted to educating, informing and empowering
women so they can use their voice and be heard in today’s political climate.

“Freedom, morality, and the human dignity of the individual consists precisely in this; that he does good not because he is forced to do so, but because he freely conceives it, wants it, and loves it.”
