Charlottesville, Va –Saturday, Scott Schultz, former 5thDistrict Congressional Candidate personally endorsed Congressional Candidate Ron Ferrin to serve the residents of Virginia’s 5th Congressional District.
“When I entered the race in the fifth district my goal was to get more people engaged in the political process. In part, I was trying to get people to think about their values and how we as Americans had more in common. I was trying to get them to converge on common goals:
-how to transform our government to enable all Americans the ability to pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness-how to re-align government to allow for significant economic growth-how to re-align our educational system to ensure our children and grandchildren’s success-how to continue to support our military to support our way of life This kind of engagement involves talking about the issues with people who may not share all of the same political views. However, what we do share is that we are all Americans and we want to see our country grow and prosper. This kind of communication needs to be done in a respectful and inclusive manner. It must be done by listening and acknowledging what all Americans have to say so that a dialog of ideas can bare the fruit of innovation. Ron Ferrin is doing this now. Not with “town hall” meetings but just showing up where there are people and inviting them to ask him questions. This demonstrates to me that he is confident in his political views, is willing to listen, and has an approach that does not turn people away from listening to his views. One of Ronald Reagan’s great assets was his ability to communicate. We need a great communicator in the fifth district not just to defeat Perriello but also to continue the fight against what he represents. That is why I, Scott Schultz, endorse Ron Ferrin in the Republican primary on June 8th.”

Um, not to be rude, but why is this important? I’m beginning to think that any regular person can come out with an endorsement and it be something “important” to this race. Do I send out a press release that I’m going to run for Congress, and all of a sudden I have legitimacy and “street cred”? The 5th is becoming such a joke. I’m beginning to believe we deserve Perriello for another term.
We promised to be fair to all the campaigns.
People wake up Ferrin can NOT win this race.
