Hi, I'm Julie and I'm kind of new to blogging. I still have an AOL email if that tells you anything:) My question is this, do you use a free blog template (or is it called a theme?) or did you buy it somewhere? Lots of stuff to learn :) Thanks, Julie

TP voted for that amendment so he could live up to his "promise" to not vote for any legislation that contained funding for abortion. He is a fraud and if you watch some of the town hall videos you can see how he has no regard for the people and in fact looks at them with contempt and disdain.

Although I am happy Tom Perriello (Representative, 5th district) voted in favor of Congressman Bart Stupak’s pro-life amendment to the House Healthcare bill, I must say I am skeptical about his motives. I say this because an examination of his voting record to date shows his allegiance with far left Democratic Party politics. My guess is his vote on the Stupak amendment was an effort to appease the pro-life segment of the Democratic Party, while maintaining approval with the far left segment.
If Mr. Perriello is truly interested in serving the will of those of us in the 5th District of Virginia, he would have voted no on the Senate version of the Healthcare bill. This would have killed the legislation and cleared the way for candid, transparent deliberation and a genuine two-party effort to craft a bill in alignment with the continually stated wishes of not only the voters of the Fifth district, but of the majority of the American people.

Any health care bill must preserve existing federal policy preventing federal dollars from paying for elective abortions. That policy delivers what most Americans want – no tax dollars for abortions. Congress can achieve this by incorporating Congressman Stupak’s language in the final version of the bill.

Any bill increasing government control is not reform, and is a slap in the face to those who trusted Mr. Perriello to represent us in Congress. A very clear message has been sent to Congress from the American people. We do not want this healthcare bill. We do not want it rammed down our throats. Nancy Pelosi may be content to “just pass anything”, but we, the people, object and will fight its passage to the bitter end.

I encourage Mr. Perriello to serve the will of the people of the Fifth district rather than the will of Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party.

Tom Perriello's assessment of the Brown victory is self serving. He could not have stated otherwise given the rank example of his voting record. He is young and apparently quite naive. In his situation I fear it is truly a case of the blind leading the blind. Tom needs to decide which master he is going to serve, Pelosi or the 5th District. The two are diametrically opposed.
